If she is into arts & crafts, fill the basket up with knitting needles, yarn, a pattern book, or arts & crafts books.

3) “Pamper Mom” gift baskets. If your mom is always busy working or taking care of the family, she would definitely appreciate some pampering and relaxing once in awhile. Possible items to include in your gift basket would be bath salts, facial masks, loofah sponges, body scrubs and lotions, massage oils, scented candles, and gift certificates to the spa.

4) “Mom’s favorite scents & flavors” gift basket. Does your mother have a special affinity for specific types of food or a specific scent or aroma? Is she on a special food diet? Fill up the gift basket with her favorite types of food such as chocolates, candies, cakes, and pastries. If she is on a special diet, include food that is allowed for that specific diet such as whole grains, fruits, diet snacks, and vegetables. Don’t forget to add her favorite flowers, her favorite perfume or cologne, scented candles, wine, aromatherapy oils and lotion, and other bath and body products in her favorite scent.

These are just some of the more popular gift basket ideas for mothers that your mom will certainly appreciate and be fond of. If you try hard enough, you will surely find a gift basket that will make your mom feel cherished and loved.

gift ideas for a stressed out momGiving the perfect Mothers Day gift  can be easy and inexpensive. Investing your time and effort into thinking up a handcrafted gift is often the best way to show your mom that you care. Getting help from other family members can be a great way to ensure that you choose the best Mothers Day gift for your special mom.

The perfect Mothers Day gift can be found by examining what your mom enjoys the most. Does she spend time relaxing with her favorite music, gardening or watching a special television program? These favorite activities can all provide possible gift ideas that your mother will be sure to enjoy.

Most moms would love a day of pampering to relieve stress. A  Mothers Day basket  always looks pretty, and you can fill up a nice basket with scented bath salts, some bubble bath, and even new makeup for her to try. Add some pretty soaps or organic shampoos and conditioners, and you have a great gift that will leave her thankful at the end of a long day. For a special touch, toss a pair of candles and a natural sounds CD into your basket.

If you have children, they may want to get in on the action and make a Mothers day gift. One idea for a creative gift that kids can make is a collage of photos of the kids. They can cut up their pictures and glue them onto a sheet of cardboard, then add a colored construction paper frame overtop. Moms love pictures, and a collage is a creative gift that is touching and fun at the same time. Kids will love making a Mothers day gift that gets put on display too.

Another creative gift is a personalized card. With this simple mothers day gift, use your computer to find free greeting cards you can download. Print one out, then add pictures to your card and write a personal message. You can even include a small poem that describes how special your mother is to you, or go one step further and write her a letter to tell her why you care about her so much.

A Mothers day gift for women who have newborns or toddlers is a break. Nothing says love more than your time, and a nice gift is to come in and take care of the dishes, laundry, and housecleaning for a day. Put on some soft music, chat while you work, and finish off your gift by cooking supper (or better yet, prepare supper in advance and freeze it to bring the day you go visit). Offer to baby sit older kids so that mom can go out for a night, or give her "gift certificates" for babysitting that she can cash in when she needs a break.

Mothers Day is a special opportunity to show your mom how much you care, but a special gift of love and appreciation can be given any day of the year. Feel free to give a Mothers day gift any season for any reason, just to show that you recognize the effort and devotion it takes to be a mom.

From the multitude of colors, meanings, and smells each flower conveys, your mission to make sure your mothers get just the right arrangement can become overwhelming. The Messages Hidden in a Flower’s Color:

As most people may know, different flowers have different meanings. Pink carnations are acknowledged as the traditional flower for Mother’s Day because they symbolize sweetness, purity and endurance. Red flowers are known to represent life and love, hence red roses for Valentine’s Day. White flowers with their sweet fragrance are regarded as the flowers for those who miss their mothers either because of death, or because of distance. The flowers that you choose for your mother should express the love and respect that you have for her. Some examples of flowers that could be given to mom on Mother’s Day are mixed or white lilies, white daisies, gerbera daisies, orchids, and roses. Roses are always very popular flowers to give. And if you decide on roses, the appropriate colors are pink, white, yellow, or orange.

Love’s First Bloom

Roses with a twist! One dozen long stemmed roses in a mix of colors are freshly picked and arranged in a glass vase with floral accents and greens.

Combined, the roses are simply radiant and add a splash of color and fragrance to any room. Select the Premium version for even more greenery and an upgraded vase.

What woman could resist the heavenly fragrance of lilies combined with the beauty of passionate red roses? Presented in a classic glass vase, this timeless bouquet includes fresh-cut roses and Asiatic lilies accented with eucalyptus and salal for the ultimate expression of your love on Valentine’s Day.

Creativity in the Floral Arrangement

You always have the choice of sending something traditional or getting very creative when choosing your flowers. For example, you can choose to send mom her favorite flower, or select a beautiful array of colors that are sure to make her smile. And if you don’t know what your mother’s favorite flowers are, well now’s the time to get to know mom a little better, now isn’t it?

Look around at her decor and see what matches perfectly with other items in the room. Are there salient shades that the perfect bouquet can bring out even more? Is there a color scheme that she seems to follow? An arrangement that complements the scheme is sure to please her, and let her know that you do notice the "little" things. The delight is in the details when you use your creativity this Mother’s Day. Choosing the perfect Mother’s Day Flowers may seem like takes a lot of thought, but the simplicity of it all lies in the fact that no matter whether you send roses, carnations, or tulips, she’s going to be pleased. The look in her eyes as she leans her head in to smell the beautiful freshly cut flowers will tell you that everything you did to make the day perfect for mom was well worth it.

Flowers are always a sign of love and respect, and they have the power to bring a smile to every woman’s face. It is a gift that you can bring to mom yourself or it can be delivered by the flower shop that you purchase them from. So whether she is down the street and around the corner or at the other end of the country, you can always give flowers for Mother’s Day or any day you want her to feel extra special.

Every mom likes getting flowers, but this year find a unique gift she’ll enjoy for many Mother’s Days to come. A jewelry box will make a great keepsake for your mom, but you need to make sure you pick something that matches her style.

Most mothers don’t expect extravagant Mother’s Day gifts. Instead they want something that comes from your heart and shows you put some thought into it. This Mother’s Day, show her how much you really care with a unique gift tailored to her.

    Young Moms Expect Handmade Gifts

Moms with young children expect to receive simple Mother’s Day gifts  made out of clay or paper. These gifts may be free, but she’ll treasure them for years because of the effort her child put into them.

Dads of young children, you’re expected to buy your wives nice gifts and help your children make breakfast for your wife without destroying the kitchen. If your wife collects jewelry, but constantly complains about how disorganized her jewelry box is, a larger jewelry box with a beautiful finish, a lock, and ample storage would be a considerate gift, especially if your children like to "borrow" her jewelry. For stay-at-home and work-at-home Moms, a day away from the kids may be the best gift of all. Buy her a spa gift certificate or take the kids out for the day so she can relax by herself or with a friend.

Moms of Older Children Appreciate Some Effort

Once their children have become teenagers, Moms understand that they won’t be getting any more lovingly handmade gifts or exuberant breakfasts-in-bed. Encourage your teenagers to spend some of their time and money on their Mom to show their appreciation for everything she does for them. If Mom wants a family day, then everyone should go along with the plan happily.

Dads, take your kids shopping or send them gift links a few weeks before Mother’s Day so there is plenty of time to choose carefully. A musical jewelry box is a popular gift that your kids can buy together. Steer your children to a box with a song your wife loves or that brings back happy memories.

Gifts from Grown Children Are a Way of Saying Thank You

A mother’s job doesn’t end once her children have moved out of the house. Although the difficult daily challenge of raising healthy, happy, successful children has passed, now there is the new role as adviser, moral supporter, possibly grandmother.

Mother’s Day gifts don’t have to be expensive to be meaningful. Handmade gifts or gifts of time and attention can mean just as much as dozen roses. The more thought you put into the gift, the more it will mean to her.

Mother’s Day gift ideas , crafts, decorations, and list of things children can do with their moms or other special women in their lives to celebrate Mother’s Day

    Mother’s Day
is a day to honor and thank mothers, grandmothers, and just-like-a-mom women in your circle of family and friends for all that they do in raising children. People for centuries have shown appreciation for mothers in one way or another. The ancient Greeks held festivities to honor Rhea, the mother of the gods, and the early Christians gave tribute to Mary, the mother of Christ. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second of May as a national holiday in honor of mothers.

This Mother’s Day, treat Mom to breakfast in bed. Serve her muffins, fresh fruit, coffee, and juice on a tray along with flowers and small gifts. Or have a tea party. Invite family as well as friends who are close to your mom. Cover the table with a festive tablecloth and decorate with our ladybug napkin rings and flower stick in a flower pot (check out KidsSoup.com for directions). Fill a fancy teapot with iced tea and serve tea sandwiches (see recipe below for a simple but delicious sandwich to make) and cookies. To make the occasion even more fun, put on outfits from a dress-up box filled with old party clothes, hats, and costume jewelry or dress up in your "Sunday-go-to-town" clothes.

    Cucumber Tea Sandwiches
Thinly slice a seedless cucumber. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese or soft butter on one side of two slices of white bread. Lay cucumber slices on the buttered side of bread. Lightly sprinkle with salt, cover with alfalfa sprouts, and top with the other slice of bread, buttered side down. Carefully remove the crusts from each sandwich and cut the sandwiches in half diagonally and then cut in half again, or cut into decorative heart shapes with a cookie cutter.

    Things to Do with Mom
With children, make a list of things that they can do with their moms or other special women in their lives (bake cookies, collect seashells on the beach, plant a vegetable or flower garden, play a board game, dance to music, read a favorite book, watch a funny movie, sing silly songs, pretend to be each other, take a walk around the block or in the park, snuggle up together, make a memory album, etc.).

Who’s the Mom? Flannel Board Game
Collect pictures of mother and baby animals. For durability, cover each picture with clear contact paper or laminate. Attach a piece of Velcro tape to the back of each picture. Allow children to match the mother animals to the baby animals using the flannel board.

    Mother’s Day Concentration Game
Using the same pictures as in the activity above, place mother and baby animal pictures face down on a table or the floor. Have 2-4 children take turns matching the mothers to their babies. If a child matches a pair, he/she takes the pictures. If the match is incorrect, the pictures are turned face down again. Children continue until all the mothers and babies are paired. The winner is the person with the most matches.

    I Love You This Much
Trace child’s hands on a piece of paper and cut out. Attach the two hands with a long piece of yarn or string (about the length of the child’s arms) and put into an envelope with a note that says, "Mom (or Grandma, etc.), I Love You This Much!"

    Small Hand/Big Hand
Help show children the difference between small and big. Have children place their handprint on a piece of paper. Then, have their mothers put their handprint next to theirs. Finally, let children draw other little and big things on the paper. Children can give this to their moms as a little Mother’s Day gift.

    Mother Says
Take turns with your child playing "Mother Says" (instead of "Simon Says"). Start by giving directions for your child to follow, such as "Mother says wave your hands. Mother says touch your nose. Mother says hop on one foot." Explain that whenever you give a direction without first saying "Mother says," your child should not do the action. If he/she does, then have him/her trade places with you and start giving you the directions. Continue the game as long as you wish.

This Mother’s Day learn how to make a difference with a personalized gift. This article discusses it’s true value.

Mother’s Day is coming and with it, the anxiety of coming up with something meaningful and original to give. It is certainly confusing, because advertising all around us try to catch our attention suggesting the "best present for a mother" and claiming to know "what every mother wants". I have found that in times like these is better to give a personalized gift.

Why personalized gifts? Well, as a son and also a father I know that the "cool things" and "latest gadgets" are nothing compared to those gifts coming form the heart and also that are unique. Remember when you drew mother’s day cards? Now, you can still do that! Though, I know most of you out there doesn’t feel confident making crafts anymore, but don’t worry, there are other options.

The web is filled with offers on personalized gifts. These sites offer products already done, ready for you to personalize. They come in all forms for every type of occasion. For instance in mother’s day you could choose to give a photo purse. A photo purse is a purse with a personalized picture, composition, collage or artwork in the front panel you could give it to her printed with the pictures of her children and you can be sure she’ll love it because of what it represents, and the time you took in giving something unique. Other options for mother’s day are personalized blankets, pillows, displays, and even jewelry.

Personalized gift  are a great way to give her back great memories in an easy way, leaving all the creative part to you. The right combination of present and picture or message can evoke many emotions. Whether you make it yourself or have it printed in a hop, custom gifts are the best way to impress her on this Mother’s Day.

    mothers day gift idea

I remember when I was a little boy in school; we would make our mom’s a silly little art project for Mother’s day. You know, a baby food jar with construction paper on it and a tissue paper flower.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am sure mom loved that little home made gift. And most mothers probably still have those little papered jars stored away in a box somewhere so they can pull them out and remember when we were young. Although, as we get older we realize that our gift was not really practical. We start to think maybe I should get mom something better. Something she can use regularly, but more importantly, something she really needs.

If you are like me, your mother is probably at the age where she can order off the senior’s menu. With the special discounts on food also come other more undesirable aspects related to age. The weather no longer seems as warm as it used to. Her feet get colder easier; the extra thick comforters come out of the closet while it is still summertime, and all sleepwear is either flannel or fleece.

As we get older our roles start to reverse with our parents. They spent our entire childhood worried that maybe we weren’t dressed warm enough for the weather, and did we take that sweater to school in case the wind picked up. At bedtime my mom would stick her head in the door 5 minutes after I was in bed to check I was warm enough all snuggled up in my Flintstones pj’s or did I need a big knitted pair of socks on too.

My mother’s penchant for saving on heating hasn’t lessened over the years. She would rather wear 3 sweaters than turn the heat up, always runs the hot water for 5 minutes to heat up the bathroom before a bath, and eighteen blankets on the bed at night. But times have changed. Fleece can now withstand weather only seen in the arctic. Slippers are not only warm and fuzzy but they now come with non-slip soles – another concern we get as our parents age.

My mother has slippers that remind her of her old dog Farley, slippers to wear when company is over, slippers to wear outside to put the garbage in the garage, slippers for every occasion it seems. She doesn’t worry about slipping in them, and I don’t worry about what might happen if she were to slip. She has a warm fleece bathrobe so she no longer has to wash, dry and dress in the bathroom to conserve heat. I notice the bed isn’t piled high with blankets anymore, mom is finally warm without the bulk of three sweaters and knitted stockings.

With Mother’s Day fast approaching I think I am going to replace baby food jar vases with slippers, tissue paper flowers with fleece bathrobes, and eighteen blankets on the bed with warm flannel pajamas. In doing this I also give myself something that can’t be bought – less worry about my aging mom, and some piece of mind knowing she is warm at night all snuggly in her fleece and flannel.

    The History Of Mothers Day

Mother’s Day is celebrated in the United States as well as Canada and many other countries around the world. However, the reason Mother’s Day is even celebrated at all is because of a woman in Michigan who decided the second Sunday in May would be a great day to celebrate mothers after a bit of a situation arose. While the lady was at church her pastor’s son was out drunk in a street and the pastor could not continue the service. So, the lady went up to the pulpit and asked all the other mothers to join her in support of the pastor. The lady’s children were so proud of their mom that they decided to honor her on the same day every year and they suggested that others do the same for their mothers. Since the brothers were so intent on their own mother’s day the Methodist Episcopal Church followed suit and declared that all moms would be honored on the second Sunday of May and then the rest of the world followed suit. That is one version of where Mother’s Day was started.

Another version of the beginning of Mother’s Day is that it was started by Anna Jarvis in West Virginia in 1907 when she decided to honor her own mother with a special service. Only seven years later Mother’s Day became a national holiday as a result of presidential decree.

These are just a few of the possible histories of Mother’s Day and what the actual one is nobody knows for sure. But, the meaning of Mother’s Day is clear to all of us. That is because on Mother’s Day we honor our mothers. We let them know how much they are appreciated and why they mean so much in our lives. Mother’s day gifts are just one way of showing mothers why they are so special and allowing them a special day to receive gifts and enjoy a day that is just for them. If you are wondering how you can make this day extra special for your own mother this year and are trying to come up with some Mother’s day gift ideas then think long and hard about your mom and what she likes. If she really loves a certain restaurant then take her there and if she really loves going to the movies then do that. Just make sure that Mother’s Day is all about your mother and she will have a wonderful time!

Great Gifts For Mom From The Heart

    mothers day gift idea

So many days go by without a thought to the daily life of our mother. How is her day going? Is everything going well? Does she need to relax? And so on. We are so wrapped up in our own lives that we forget that mom’s have tough days too, even after we are all grown up. And husbands forget that wives, the mothers of their children, do get forgotten in the daily hubbub of life.

So this year, do something that is absolutely and completely all for her. First, make arrangements for a full day at the spa. The works. It is relatively inexpensive and will bring the glow back into mom. While she is at the spa, clean the house, or hire someone to come do it for you. Order out for the best restaurant to deliver a full course meal and set it up for you so that when mom comes home, there is no cooking to be done. Make arrangements to have it cleaned up also. Make sure all her dry cleaning is taken to the shop, the dog is bathed and groomed. The sheets on the bed are fresh and clean.

This may not sound original to some, but for moms, it is the most personal thing you could do for her. Make it so mom does not have to lift a finger for anything.

Another idea, if you want to spend the money and do the footwork, is have a family quilt made for her. There are dozens of ways to do it. You can even have old family pictures incorporated into the quilt. Have the names of her family added to the quilt, this will turn into a ‘Memory Quilt’, something she gaze upon year after year and in a sense be surrounded by her family each night.

Depending on what ‘personal’ means to your mom or wife, can decide how you want to personalize her Mother’s Day gift. There is engraving, embroidery, painting, and sculpting, or you can do something that mom has wanted done for a very long time and make that personal. Taking a cruise or short trip to a place that she has wanted to go.

To a mom, all things are personal, especially when it comes to her family.

Finding The Perfect Gift For Mom

Here are a few great gift ideas for that special mother in your life on Mother’s Day.

    10. Weekend Getaway. A weekend retreat to a ski lodge could be great for the mom who needs a weekend to unwind.

    9. Digital Camera. For the new mom, this makes a great gift. Children grow up so fast, catching those fleeting moments are important. With scrap booking becoming so popular, digital cameras also make a great gift for the scrapbook lover.

    8. Charitable Donation. For the mom who never stops giving, she would be honored to know that a donation was given to her favor charity in her name. This is truly a gift that keeps on giving.

    7. Buy a Tree or Star. Have that special mom immortalized for years to come. Have a star named after her or buy a tree in her name. With God’s love that star and tree will be around even if we are not.

    6. Night Out. New mothers would surely appreciate a night out of the house with some adult conversation and atmosphere. It’s a simple request, yet such a grand gesture for those moms who just want an evening as an adult. This works well with the morning and afternoon spent with the children. That is what Mother’s Day is about in the first place.

    5. Spa Day. Most mothers I know could use a spa day. Whether her children are at home or have long since moved out, a spa day is great choice. Spa Days range from a whole package of all the goodies like mud baths and lunch or just a half hour of massage

    4. Jewelry . A great idea would be give her a pendant with picture of her child/ren in it or a bracelet, ring or necklace with the birthstone/s of children or grandchildren.

    3. Gift Baskets . You can find Gift baskets that contain any and everything. There are baskets that are specifically designed for Mother’s Day, but other choices include gourmet and fruit baskets, spa baskets and candle baskets. Many places also make custom baskets.

    2. Flowers and Plants. This is the most common of Mother’s Day gifts. It’s the obvious choice for that bouquet lover or for a very picky person.

    1. The Star Treatment. Being a good mother is the hardest job in the world. Offering that special mom the star treatment for a day is a great gift. Start with allowing her to sleep in. As if that weren’t gift enough, breakfast in bed and cleaning the house is just what the mom ordered. Lunch and dinner preparation should be included along with bathing, feeding and dressing the children. Basically don’t allow her to left a finger. Supply a good book or time for her to do what she wants. What mother wouldn’t want a day to recuperate?

    Special Occasion Gift Baskets

Thinking about what to give dear Mom for Mother’s Day on May 10th? Consider an idea that would have a more lasting effect than traditional gifts.

Gentle, kind, tender, nurturing, calming, and supportive are some of the characteristics that can be attributed to a particular person within our lives. This noble member of our world has been a source of comfort during anxious times and our biggest fan whenever we sought to expand our horizons. Who is this character who has blessed our existence with an incalculable amount of uncompromising love?

Mother! The one who had bandaged our knees and warmly embraced us when we most needed it. She is, indeed, a person that deserves to be honored much more than she usually is. This is a reason why the event known as "Mother’s Day" should especially be used as a way to send a sincere message of gratitude to Mom on or before this upcoming big day on Sunday, May 10.

What options are available to display our affection to the one who gave of herself for our benefit? There are holiday cards that are specific to this occasion that may be all that is needed to communicate our thankfulness. Flowers for a vase or the garden outside may be more expressive of our desire to exalt the one who has graced our presence in this world. What is, perhaps, a better way to convey our emotions and in a more lasting way?

Mother’s Day gift baskets may be the answer that would be the perfect way to celebrate the May 10th occasion. The message sent would be one of love in no uncertain terms. Sending one would reveal our intentions to honor the one who has been our crutch, advisor, teacher, cheerleader and emotional ally throughout the years whether good or bad. So, what are these gifts all about?

Mother’s Day gift baskets  have a variety of themes with items within that may be most pleasing to the recipient. They can be a breakfast basket full of pancake mix, syrup, stroopwaffels, coffee, chocolates, cookies and related goodies. There can also be baskets that are packed with soothing yet revitalizing bath spa articles for Mom to use whenever the mood strikes her to kick back and relax.

There are some with gourmet tea and others with calming candles that might be the precise type of gift to bestow. There are other ideas as well that could make Mom feel like the queen that she truly is. Go online for a bevy of suggestions to find the one that will say it all without you saying a thing.

Take the advice of aGiftBasketParadise.com and consider Mother’s Day gift baskets this year as a way to bestow your feelings of love and thankfulness in a tangible, lasting way. Never miss an opportunity to show Mom that she is and truly will be appreciated by you 24/7 forever and ever.

    Flowers For Mothers Day??

Mother’s Day is the perfect time for children to express their feelings to mothers. Here is a list of some of the best Mother’s Day Gift ideas.

     flowers for mothers day

A woman completes the family picture, and a house becomes a home only when a woman resides in it. Though the father plays an integral part in a child’s life, the mother is the epitome of support in a child’s life. Mother’s Day is a perfect time for children to express their love and respect to their mothers. Here are some tips for choosing Mother’s Day Gifts.

The family is the center of any mother’s life. On Mother’s Day, one splendid  Mother’s Day gift idea is a family outing or a picnic. It is always a good idea to discuss with dad as to which place would be best suited for the picnic of dinner. Most probably, you could find out where mom and dad courted each other.

Speaking of memories, another good idea of the perfect Mother’s Day gifts is a photo album. One can prepare a collage, or even an entire album of all the family memories put together. Rest assured, that will be a gift that’ll remain with mom for years and years to come.

No childhood is complete without broken crockery or broken window panes. It is obvious that children must have broken something or the other that has been irreplaceable in a mother’s heart and her memories.  Mother’s Day is a good time to try to replace such artifacts or personal effects broken during a lively childhood.

Another good Mother’s Day gift idea is gifts suiting lifestyles. Depending on the lifestyle of the person, anything and everything can make a good enough gift. Mothers with a religious bent of mind can be gifted a quaint or rare religious book, or something related to religion and God. If the mom is into fitness, some good gifts can be fitness videos, fitness music, fitness apparel or even the newest fitness machine in the market.

Trinkets and personal effects are also good Mother’s Day gift ideas.  Jewelery is one type of expensive gift to adorn mothers with on Mother’s Day. To make the gift extra special, one can add a personal touch to it, for example, a pendant with photos of children or the husband will make give the gift a much more value than it originally cost.

Time cannot be stopped, but the memories it brings can surely be stored. Anything reminding mom of the golden days is an excellent Mother’s Day gift idea. There are a lot of old movies which have been digitally remastered, as well as Compact Discs and cassettes of old time classic songs. These remastered copies not only enhance the quality of the music, but are also of good quality and guaranteed to long last, a perfect gift for mom.

Knowledge is power, and information technology is fast becoming a compulsion, instead of a tool or talent. If the children are away from home and it is not easy to communicate via the phone or the mail box, take time off on Mother’s Day to get mother on the Internet, so that communication via the Internet becomes possible and easy. While there are a lot many courses available which teach elderly people exactly how to get to the Internet, communicating on the Internet is pretty easy and can be taught by almost anyone who ever accessed the Internet.

Therefore, if the children themselves teach their mothers this important talent, they can not only add to their mother’s knowledge but also spend quality time with her.

If diamonds are a woman’s best friends, flowers leave nothing else to say to her. Sending flowers on Mother’s Day is almost a tradition. The children can be their creative best while gifting flowers, in the sense that they themselves can decorate the bouquet, choose which flower fits the occasion best and so on and so forth. There are many Mother’s Day Gift flower shops which have special offers and products during Mother’s Day .

Simple Mothers Day Crafts For Children

simple Mothers Day crafts for children

Mother’s Day is a day especially set aside to honor our Moms. It’s on the second Sunday in May. Making gifts is a wonderful way for children to show their love for those who mean so much to them.

    1. Paper Lilies: Flower Bouquet for Mom

    Supplies Needed: white paper

    scissors

    pencil

    green pipe cleaners

    stapler or tape

Make a lily by tracing a handprint onto white paper. Cut out the handprint and roll the fingers around a pencil, then tape the sides of the hand together(with the curled fingers facing out). Twist two pipe cleaners together to make a stem and attach with a stapler or tape.

    2. Dough Handprints
This is great for making and saving your child’s hand or footprint impressions as a keepsake.

    2 cups baking soda
    1 cup cornstarch(cornflour)
    1 1/4 cups cold water
    optional:food coloring to color clay
Stir together baking soda and cornstarch in saucepan. Add water and cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture reaches consistency of moist mashed potatoes(approximately 6 to 10 minutes). If clay is cooked too long, finished crafts may crack.
Remove mixture to plate and cover with damp cloth. When play clay is cool enough to handle, pat until smooth. If you find the clay crumbles when working with it, add a few drops of water at a time to soften. If you find clay sticks to the hard, smooth surface you’re working on, use clay on wax paper.
3.Potato Prints to Make Homemade Gift Wrap Paper
Make edible gifts more memorable by having your kids add their personal touch to the packaging. Put homemade cookies or candies in packages designed by your kids. Give them solid-colored paper bags or boxes and let them decorate with ribbon, bows, glitter and paint. Remember to supervise if scissors are used. Include a special message on or inside the package. Buy small white notecards and have your kids draw on them and add to the packaging.

Adult to do the following: Slice a raw potato in half lengthwise. Place a cookie cutter on the cut side of one half of the potato. Push the cookie cutter into the potato while keeping the potato flat on the table. Break away the potato that’s around the outside of the cookie cutter. Push the shape out of the cookie cutter. Dry off any moisture from the potato with a paper towel. Dip in paint and let your child have fun stamping!
